The Smoke House, Lewes

Just a quick one, but we just wanted to highlight another fantastic local producer – The Smoke House in Barcombe. Run by Dave, who will basically smoke anything which will stay still for long enough. He has a fantastic array of smoked salmon, mackeral, trout, cooked trout, nuts, cheese, garlic, chicken…

Dave does ‘cold smoking’ which is a brick environment with sawdust. He showed us around and the smoky smell stayed in our clothes all day.

When we got home we ate some delicious smoked cheese on risotto with some smoked trout. Make sure you watch out for his smoked nuts on the bar at The Crown one day soon.
